The Upper Gwynedd Township Environmental Advisory Council is pleased to host a presentation on Energy Efficiency and PECO’s Home Energy Audit Program on Saturday March 25th at 10:00 am in the Public Meeting Room located inside the Upper Gwynedd Township Building at 1 Parkside Place. A representative from PECO will discuss ways to improve Energy Efficiency in homes to help reduce energy costs while having a positive impact on the environment. The presentation will also provide an overview of PECO’s Home Energy Audit Program. Following the presentation, Upper Gwynedd Township residents will have an opportunity to register for an audit at no cost to them, courtesy of the Upper Gwynedd Environmental Advisory Council. The free Audits, valued at $49, are initially limited to the first 40 residents who register. Residents interested in attending this presentation are encouraged to register as space may be limited, however, walk-ins will be welcome on the day of the presentation as space allows. UGT E-Recycle/Shred Event December 3, 2022

Upper Gwynedd Township's 4th Annual E-Recycle/Shredding Event has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 3, 2022. The event will be held at 1 Parkside Place from 9am-1pm. PAR-Recycle Works will be onsite handling residents shredding & e-recycling needs. There are a few things to remember about this event: This event is limited to UGT Residents Only. Vehicles should have their Driver's license or ID ready to be checked by Twp staff. In order to keep traffic flowing, shredding is limited to 5 bags or boxes per vehicle. We ask that you please remove all metal clips or binders. Staples are OK. No early birds please!
The Following items include a cost to ensure proper recycling:
Older CRT Monitors/TVS: $35-75
Flat Screen TVs: $20
Flat Screen Computer Monitors: $5
Air conditioners/purifiers: $20
Dehumidifiers: $20
Microwaves: $10
Shredding is free
PAR will accept cash, check, & credit cards

UGT EAC Arbor Day Tree Sale!

The Environmental Advisory Council is pleased to announce the first annual Arbor Day Tree Sale on Saturday, April 30th. Running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM by the Pavilion at 1 Parkside Place, residents can choose from several native tree species.

or by dropping off your order form with payment by April 22nd. There will be limited in person tree purchases available day of event (cash or check only). Pre-orders are encouraged!
Trees can be picked up from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on April 30th. Planting and care instructions will be provided. And for those who are interested, free wood chip mulch will also be available at pick up. Mulch will be bagged for ease of pickup, but you are more than welcome to bring a container and scoop some up yourself!

UGT Declaration of Snow Emergency

Upper Gwynedd Township is declaring a Snow Emergency effective 12:00pm today Friday, January 28, 2022. In anticipation of that, we would like to remind you that parking on ALL township streets are prohibited during the entire duration of the declaration. This means that towing and citations may result if you are parked on roads within the township during this time. We ask that you make alternate parking arrangements ahead of time so that our Public Works Department can safely and efficiently clear your streets. If you see a vehicle parked on a Township roadway, please contact Upper Gwynedd Police at 215-699-5861.
Please avoid all non-essential travel. It is important to stay off the roadways during hazardous driving conditions. For any other weather related emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
We would also like to remind residents and business owners that it is illegal to deposit snow removed from sidewalks or private property onto any Township street and you are prohibited from throwing or blowing of snow into the streets from sidewalk or properties. Violators are subject to fines. To assist emergency personnel, specifically firefighters, please be sure to clear a three (3) foot clearance around all fire hydrants on your property.
The Township is planning for the snow event with crews out preparing known trouble spots and will remain on call until after the Snow Emergency is lifted. Throughout the storm, crews will be clearing snow on all Township roads, but realize that snowfall rates may exceed the capacity of our crews at times.
Should this storm feature ice which can collect on trees and wires along with windy conditions. Under no circ*mstance should residents attempt to lift, move or adjust electric wires. Please contact PECO for any power outages.
It will be posted on the website and social media channels when the Snow Emergency is lifted, and residents can resume normal parking.
The Township also asks citizens to be neighborly and check on elderly or vulnerable neighbors who may need assistance. Also be sure to keep house numbers visible so that emergency responders can find you in case of emergency. Working together to overcome the obstacles and adversity created by weather situations such as these creates a greater sense of community and kindness.

Liberty Bell Trail Open House October 7, 2021

Join us for the Liberty Bell Trail Open House on October 7, 2021, 6:30-8:30pm at the Upper Gwynedd Township Admin. Building. Come out & share your feedback with municipal officials & trail planners.
Upper Gwynedd Township, Lansdale Borough, and North Wales Borough alongside the neighboring municipalities of Hatfield Borough, Hatfield Township, Telford, Souderton, and Franconia, are partnering with the PA Environmental Council (PEC), consultant Michael Baker International, and the Partnership TMA to conduct a trail feasibility study for the development and expansion of the Liberty Bell Trail.
The October 7th Open House will introduce the project to the community and provide:
-An overview of proposed trail alignments within Upper Gwynedd, Lansdale, and North Wales
-Opportunities for feedback on trail location, amenities, and destinations. Next steps and future engagement efforts
-A chance to share your thoughts with municipal leadership!
