I know how much you all love fat bombs so I have a collection of over 60 best sweet and savoury recipes!
For those new to the keto diet, fat bombs are delicious high-fat, low-carb and low-protein snacks. They are a convenient source of energy and are ideal for those who need to add healthy fats into their diet to meet their personal macronutrient targets. Some also make them on the Fat Fast or as pre or post workout snacks.
Note for paleo & keto substitutes: If a recipe calls for honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, etc., use a low-carb alternative such as stevia or Erythritol (more tips for low-carb sweeteners are here). If a recipe calls for peanuts, use any nut or seed butter instead.

Hi Olivia, please, have a look at our start here page (I would personally start with the keto basics - fat bombs are not necessary if you just started following a keto diet): How To Start Keto: All You Need To Know

These look perfect for me as I get pretty close to hitting my macronutrients (as laid out by KetoBuddy) but I'm usually over by 1-5 g of protein and under by about 10-25 g of fat. I really cannot add ANYMORE avocado, full fat salad dressing, or cheese to my diet and I'm craving something sweet (chocolate is my absolute fave). I think this will be perfect for helping to close the macronutrient gaps.
My question is, some of these bombs have fruit and many of them have chocolate. On your "What To Eat and What to Avoid" list, you have both fruits and chocolates as "eat occasionally". Would it be harmful to have say a chocolate fat bomb every day? Or even perhaps twice a day several times a week?
Martina @ KetoDiet 8 years ago # Reply
Hi April, you don't need to hit your targets exactly! I personally have a 15 gram tolerance for my protein intake so instead of 70 g I eat anything between 55-85 grams (more protein usually on my "active" days). Fat is always the "filler" and you can eat less than suggested if you don't feel hungry. Although fruit and chocolate should be eaten occasionally, I don't think it will affect your progress provided you don't significantly go over your macros. Fat bombs are small and one-two pieces should be fine 😊

I have a request. This is an awesome page, can you provide the nutritional info (fat, protein, carbs, fiber is all i personally care about) for each recipe on this list page?It helps me decide which ones to go with.
Martina @ KetoDiet 8 years ago # Reply
Thank you Joe, I'll do my best but I'm currently busy working on a cookbook and the next update of my app so it may take some time 😊

HELP!!!!!!!! I'm new to keto and using 100% cacao (Hershey's). I have not been able to sweeten it enough for it to be palatable; I end up with a bitter, alcohol-tasting mess! ( maybe too much vanilla/rum flavoring?) I've used liquid stevia, and crystal pyure(erithynol). Is there any hope 4 my fat bombs to be tasty bites of decadence?
Martina @ KetoDiet 8 years ago # Reply
Hi Nia, yes, it looks like you used too much of vanilla flavouring. What if you try vanilla seed powder instead (use the seeds from vanilla beans)? Stevia may make them bitter - be very careful when using it - only use small amounts (a few drops). Erythritol or Swerve taste more like sugar so you may want to use more of these sweeteners.

sorry, disregard by previous question re the savoury snacks - I have found them. Thanks for them also, they look great. Can't wait to try them
Martina @ KetoDiet 8 years ago # Reply
No worries - thank you and hope you found your favourites! 😊

If you still are trying to figure out a good way to sweeten.. I use sugar free mocha coffee syrup and a little goes a long way. Definitely gives chocolately sugary taste and yet 0g carbs and no sugar.

I never heard of this before, but have been told I might be diabetic. That means watch the carbs!! I also have high cholesterol, controlled with meds.Is it possible to try these with all the fat?
Martina @ KetoDiet 8 years ago # Reply
Hi Joni, these snacks are meant to be used on a low-carb diet and with the right combination of foods, they can be beneficial. There is no universal advice for everyone regarding cholesterol but in general, saturated fat and cholesterol do not raise blood cholesterol in most people - a diet high in carbs does. Have a look at this post for more info: The Obesity Epidemic, the Truth about Cholesterol and Saturated Fat

When eating these fat bombs, is 1 piece the equivalent to what you would use for one of your 4-5 meals?
Martina @ KetoDiet 9 years ago # Reply
Hi Tara, I wouldn't use fat bombs as meal replacements - they are only meant to be used as snacks. They are high in fat but low in micronutrients.
Hélène 9 years ago # Reply
An egg fast has you eating 1 egg for every tablespoon of fat and optional 1oz of cheese. Not eating more than every 4 hours either.
It is different from a traditional fat fast.
Martina @ KetoDiet 9 years ago # Reply
Thank you fro clarifying that Hélène. In that case, I'd use most of the fat bombs as the "fat element" in Egg Fast (apart from the Bacon & Egg FB which use eggs) - if other foods that eggs, cream cheese and pure fat are allowed.

I was wondering if you could point out which of these are Egg Fast Friendly (or somewhat friendly?)any?Thank you very much!
Martina @ KetoDiet 9 years ago # Reply
Hi Isabella, I think that Egg Fast should be almost the same as Fat Fast so all of these should be suitable for that. I'd say 1-2 pieces a day would be ideal in addition to other meals 😊
